Due to a growing workload of interesting projects a job vacancy has arisen in our busy practice. This offers an opportunity exists for the successful applicant to progress their career with our practice with a view to becoming a part of our long-term future. 

We are an award-winning Angus-based architectural practice, who pride ourselves on delivering projects which exceed expectations our client’s expectations.  We have an exciting and varied workload across many sectors and involving several prestigious projects.  As a result of this, we have an opportunity for either a talented and enthusiastic Architect or an experienced Architectural Technician/Technologist to join our busy team in our Glamis studio. 

Our practice has an expanding “order book” and has projects “on the drawing board” ranging from smaller scale domestic work through to larger projects across a wide range of sectors and covering the length and breadth of Scotland. 

Whilst experience and knowledge of BIM/Autodesk Revit would be beneficial, we are primarily looking for the right candidates who can demonstrate the ability to both lead and be a part of a team to deliver projects from inception to completion. 

Key skills include:

Communication – excellent communication skills and be comfortable dealing directly with clients, consultants and contractors; 

Teamwork – be capable of working both as a part of team and autonomously, as may be required; 

Multi-tasking – ability to organise workload to manage workload across a number of projects simultaneously; 

Design – a flair for architectural design and attention to detail; 

Organisation – good organisation skills and attention to detail; 

Flexibility – ability adopt agile working, as may be required and to work outwith “core” working hours dependent upon project demands and client meeting availability/requirements; 

Conservation – a knowledge of conservation methods and preferably conservation accreditation would be particularly desirable. 

We would also welcome applications from Architect’s with some Passivhaus project experience and/or experience in delivering BIM Level 2 projects. 

We work in Autodesk Revit and also AutoCAD and additionally use Microsoft and Adobe software.  We also use NBS specification software.  Although experience and a sound working knowledge of those packages would be beneficial, training can be provided for the right candidate. 

Although we are primarily seeking qualified candidates with some experience, an exceptional Part 2 candidate, whom we can support towards their Part 3 Professional Practice qualification, may be considered. 

Salary will be dependent upon skills, experience and potential.
